The man, supposedly, Uncle Bert but no one seems to know who uncle Bert is. Thinking that Eunice may have had a brother named Bert, but after searching, that was not so. Since Eunice married first Bert Clarke, I guess it could be him but why would he be with the boys if he and Eunice were divorced? My guess is that this May be the boys father Robert Elmer Deatherage. I have no proof of that but I am still searching. Until someone can prove to me who Bert was, I am attaching this photo to Robert Elmer. |

He states his sister, Lola Jeane Deatherage as a contact person and states she lives in Moody, Missouri
- Family states he was born in Fulton County, Arkansas but in the 1880, 1900, and 1920 Census they state he was born in Missouri. In the 1880 census, which was taken 15 Jul 1880, he was listed as 1/12 old meaning he was just one month old. So the year of his birth can't be 1881 as I've seen stated by family. They also state he died in Fulton County, Arkansas, but his obit states differently.
In the 1920 Census they have 6 children, the names being what I have listed. But Family states they had a daughter Iona that was born 25 Apr 1911. Could that be the Katie that is in the census? I see no Iona.
Obit Reads:
"Robert Elmer Deatherage died at his home at Moody, Missouri, at the age of 72 years, January 30 at 8:55 PM, deathe resulting from paralysis.
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 5, at 2:00 PM at Hurst Cemetery and burial will be at Hurst Cemetery under direction of Carter Funeral Service, Salem, Arkansas. Mr. Deatherage was a farmer.
Surviving are three sons, Willard Deatherage of Taft, California; Virgil of Moody, and Wyant of Seattle, Washington; seven daughters, Mrs. Myrtle Talley of Tehachapi, California; Mrs. Ona Overton of Oak Ridge; Mrs. Pearl Donathan of Oakland, California; Mrs. Lolla Jean Martin of Rockford, Illinois; nellie Deatherage of Moody, Missouri; and Mrs. Grace Stricklans of West Plains; brother Noah Deatherage of Washington; 24 grandchildren and six greatgrandchildren."
