Forest Fiorini, 90, farmer
Delhi - Forest Fiorini, a resident of Delhi for 86 years, died Tuesday in a Turlock rest home. He was 90.
Born May 22, 1905 in Seattle, Wash., Mr. Fiorini moved to Delhi with his parents when he was four years old. He attended Delhi Elementary School, Turlock High School and the University at Davis.
He returned to Delhi to go into farming with his father and decades later formed a partnership with his son, Randy.
He was a member of the Growers Harvesting Committee, California Chambers of Commerce Agriculture Committee, State Aeronautics Commission and served as a member, past president and director of the Livingston Rotary Club. He volunteered flying time to the Sheriff's Air Squardon and Flying Farmers.
He was involved with the school system, Emanuel Medical Center and First Methodist Church of Turlock. He received the Agri-Businessman of the Year in both Turlock and Merced, 1985 Good Samaritan award from Emanuel Medical Center and became a Paul Harris Fellow in 1982.
Mr. Fiorini is survived by his wife, Mary Fiorini of Delhi; one son, Randy Fiorini of Delhi; three daughters, Pam Taylor of Turlock, Phylis Yttrup of Rancho Murietta and Debbie Wiebe of Martinez; one sister Beatrice McGahey of Porterville; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. at First Methodist Church in Turlock with the Rev. Arnold Mott officiating. Burial is private in Turlock Memorial Park.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Allen Mortuary in Turlock. Memorial contributions may be made to the Livingston Rotary Club, 1416 C St., Livingston, 95334; Emanuel Medical Center Memorial Fund, 825 Delbon Ave., Turlock, 95382; or First United Methodist Church Organ Fund, 1660 Arbor Way, 95380.
