- Mrs. Elsie Frances Gore Hord, 70, of 213 Sheridan Dr., Campbellsville, died Wednesday, January 10, 1973, at the Jewish Hospital in Louisville. She was born October 16, 1902, the daughter of the late Elze Sidebottom Gore and Millard F. Gore. She was united in marriage to Mr. Ray Hord, who survives. To this union two sons and six daughters were born. One daughter, Mrs. Dorothy O'Banion, preceded her mother in death. Besides her husband, she is survived by: two sons, Mr. Kenneth Hord and Mr. Richard Hord, both of Campbellsville; five daughters, Mrs. Joyce Tucker, Mrs. Shirley Carter, Mrs. Johnnie Maupin, all of Campbellsville; Mrs. Russell Wright of Greensburg; and Mrs. Gene Oliver of Dayton, Ohio; twenty grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Mr. Vester Gore of Oxford, Wisconsin and Mr. Walter Gore of Blooming, Ill.; one sister, Mrs. Mary Vandegrast of Hutson, Ill.; and one half-sister, Mrs. Lester Cox of Campbellsville. Funeral services were conducted at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, January 13, at the Shiloh Cumberland Presbyterian Church by Rev. Shiley Beard and Rev. Phil Porter. Burial was in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens. Lyon Funeral Home was in charge. Active pallbearers were: Billy Ray O'Banion, Emmett Black, Oliver Hord, Clifton McMahan, J.D. Maupin, Roger Smith. Honorary pallbearers were: Horace Burress, Billy Henderson, Raymond Furkin, Merlin Harrison, Pete Baumgardner, Jerry McMahan, and Garnett Henderson.
