- Robert L. Arth, 77, of Sedalia, Missouri died Thursday, July 27, 2000, at St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City.
He was born June 8, 1923, in Dover, a son of George and Katherine Long Arth. On June 5, 1964, in Sedalia, he was married to Martha Walz, who died Sept. 26, 1994.
Mr. Arth was raised and educated in Lafayette and Saline Counties and graduated from Napton High School. He was an Army veteran of World War II and was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Sedalia. He worked as an engineer for the Missouri State Highway Department for 39 years.
Surviving are a daughter, Julie A. Arth of Madison, Wisconsin; a step-son, Robert David Kelley of Sedalia; two brothers, George Arth Jr., and Raymond Arth, both of Marshall, Missouri; a sister, Elaine Arth of Carrollton; and one granddaughter.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, with Father Tom Albers officiating. Pallbearers will be Doug Arth, Don Arth, Gary Arth, John Arth, Mike Arth and Glen Kreisel. Burial will be in Highland Sacred Gardens, with full military rites at graveside by V.F.W. Post No. 2591.
Friends may call after 10 a.m. Sunday at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel, where the rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Sunday, with visitation to follow.
The family suggests memorials to Open Door Ministry.
