    • Mary "Teeny" Sikes Weatherford, born January 21, 1917, a native of Nashville, Georgia and a resident of Spanish Fort, AL died Wednesday, April 28, 2010.
      A graduate of Murphy High School, Mrs. Weatherford worked at Kaver's Shoes and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Mobile. During World War II, she followed her husband Jennings to the West Coast. While waiting for his overseas military duty to end, she worked in Medford, Oregon for the Harry & David Company. She was a devoted wife and mother.
      She enjoyed fishing with her husband and was an accomplished seamstress. She was also a talented artist and enjoyed painting. In later years she was active in senior activities on the Eastern Shore. "Teeny" and Jennings were devoted members of the Church of Christ and were Charter members of the Church of Christ in Spanish Fort, AL.
      Mrs. Weatherford was preceded in death by her parents John Frank and Frances (Yaun) Sikes; her husband of over 60 years, Jennings W. Weatherford and two brothers and five sisters.
      She is survived by: Her Daughter: Linda (Michael) Sullivan, Daphne, AL Her Son: Thomas E. Weatherford, Spanish Fort, AL 2 Grandchildren: Mark D. Hirschfeldt and Christina J. (Trey) Evans And 4 Great Grandchildren: Jude, Asa, Gabriel and Dominic Evans
      Funeral services will be held Friday, April 30, 2010 at 11:30 a.m. at the chapel of Norris Funeral Home. The family will receive friends starting at 10:30 a.m. on Friday. Burial will follow at Bay Minette Cemetery.
      A special thanks to Mercy Medical (the staff at the John McClure Snook Regional Center, Mercy Medical Rehab and the Mercy Medical Hospice of Daphne) for their loving care.
