    • One of few remaining direct descendants of Chief William "Red Eagle" Weatherford, died Wednesday, following a boating accident. He was 82.

      Weatherford's survivors include his wife of 60 years, Mary Sikes Weatherford; two children, Linda R. Sullivan and Thomas E. Weatherford; two grandchildren, Mark D. Hirschfeldt and Christina J. Hirschfeldt. He is also survived by one sister, Eunice Snead of Montgomery and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

      Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:00 AM at Norris Funeral Home in Bay Minette. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Spanish Fort Church of Christ or Daphne Fire and Rescue Unit, Inc.

      Funeral arrangements are by NORRIS FUNERAL HOME, Bay Minette, Alabama.
