    Brubacher, Elizabeth, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Abraham Brubacher, was born near Bothwell, Ont., Sept. 20, 1876; died at her home near Waterloo, Ont., following an illness of a few weeks; aged 80 y. 8m. 24 d. On Sept. 24, 1895, she was married to Menno B. Brubacher, who predeceased her in 1952. Surviving are 4 daughters (Mrs. Leah Bender, Waterloo; Lydia Ann, Annie, and Elizabeth, all at home), one sister (Mrs. Mary Ann Frey, St. Jacobs, Ont.), one brother (Aaron S., Mountain Home, Idaho), 2 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. One daughter died in infancy. She joined the Mennonite Church as a young girl and died in the same faithful. Funeral services were conducted at the St. Jacobs Church on June 16 by Roy S. Koch assisted by Noah Husnberger. Burial was made in the Conestogo Old Order Mennonite Cemetery.

    Elizabeth married Menno B. Brubacher 24 Sep 1895, Waterloo County, Ontario. Menno (son of Daniel Martin Brubacher and Elizabeth W Beeshy) was born 16 Jul 1872, Woolwich, Waterloo, Ontario; died 17 Jul 1952. [Group Sheet]

    LORNE EDWARD BENDER 1919 - 2007 Lorne Edward Bender, age 88, passed away peacefully and with great courage in the arms of his loving daughters, at Sunnyside Home, Kitchener, on Monday, August 13, 2007. Beloved husband of the late Ruby Bender (nee Golbeck). Cherished dad of Barb (Bruce) Wendling, Pat (the late Paul) Bender, Mary (the late Doug) Hannusch, Lynda (Dave) Weber, and Anne (Bob) Cheeseman. Precious grandpa and papa of nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Brother of Ruth (Fred) Seiling and brother-in-law of Ruth (the late Harold) Golbeck. Predeceased by his parents, Leah and Edward Bender; his brother, Earl Bender, and by his sister, Marie Sobisch. Friends are invited to share their memories of Lorne with his family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home , 171 King Street South, Waterloo, on Friday August 17, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service to celebrate Lorne's life will be held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday, August 18, 2007, at 10 a.m. with Rev. Robert Snell officiating. Reception will immediately follow in the Fireside Room of the funeral home. Private family interment in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Breslau.     I was unable to find a birth record. His marriage info approximates his birth at 1887
    I don't see him listed in the 1901 census
    Mary Ann shows Edward as being previously married to Sophia, if this is true then Edward of the 1911 census has a birth date of Jan 1887
    Rechecking Edward and Leah's marriage record, he does indicate himself as being a widower.
    Allan has Edward being the son of Frederick, if that is correct then his birth date from 1911 census would be Apr 1883, and his name is Edwin not Edward.

    MARTIN, Abner L.H. - Peacefully went to be with the Lord, on Thursday, November 23, 2006, at his residence RR4, Listowel (Carthage). Abner was born 76 years ago on December 24, 1929 in Woolwich Township. Beloved husband of Ermina Martin who he married October 5, 1954. Loving father of John and Kathleen of Wellesley, Leah, Annie and Joseph of RR4, Listowel and Sidney of RR1, Tavistock. Lovingly remembered by brothers Melvin Martin of RR1, St. Jacobs and Simon and Selina Martin of RR5, Holyrood, sisters Maryann and Abner G. Martin, and Esther Martin, all of RR2, Elmira. Also remembered by sister-in-law Melinda Martin of St. Jacobs. Abner was predeceased by his parents Aaron M. and Leah (Hoffman) Martin, by a son Osiah (1969), by brother Allan Martin and by sister-in-law Malinda Martin. Abner was a member of Kurtzville Mennonite Church. He had resided at RR4, Listowel for many years and was employed at Bauman Manufacturing. Friends and relatives may call at Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 7 Spencer St., Milverton tonight (Friday) from 7-9 p.m. and again Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 26, 2006 at 2 p.m. at Listowel Evangelical Missionary Church, 1205 Tremaine Ave. S., Listowel with Bishop Aden Martin officiating. Burial to follow at Kurtzville Mennonite Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Guatemala Mission.
