    • Marion George ("Pat") Abernethy was around when my dad was growing up and Dad loved him very much. The family story on how he got the name of Pat was when he was a very young boy he was running around his family's yard and a rooster they had was named Pat was out in the yard, too. Well evidently this rooster pecked my great grandfather on the (um, how should a delicately say this?) on his "private parts that little boys like to show off sometimes" and came crying back to his mommy afterwards and then had to explain himself! I guess the family laughed pretty hard and from then on started calling HIM Pat, too. What a crazy story, huh?!
