      The following obituary comes from the Joplin Globe newspaper and is transcribed from an undated clipping. It reads:

      JACK HOWARD
      -------------------------------------------------------

      Neosho, Missouri-----Jack Howard, 65 years old, Neosho Route 5, was pronounced dead on arrival at Sale Memorial Hospital, where he was taken by ambulance at 3 o'clock Wednesday morning. He died after suffering an apparent stroke, according to attendants at the hospital.

      Mr. Howard was a retired farmer.

      Survivors include his widow Mrs. Elma Howard; a daughter, Mrs. Ozell Wyatt of Wichita, Kansas; a son, John Howard of Springield, Missouri; a sister, Mrs. Mattie Faubion of Joplin, and five grandchildren.

      Funeral services will be conducted at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon in the Clark Chapel, with the Rev. Paul Patton officiating.

      Burial will be in Dice Cemetery, Fairview, Newton County, Missouri.
