Notes |
- Laura Deatherage GG Granddaughter of George Washington
In the 1900 census, Millersburg, Mercer County, Illinois, his son James states his father and mother were born in Ohio. Laura Deatherage states Indiana.
In 1867, George and his wife Nancy with their children made a trip to Holden, Missouri in a covered wagon. Enroute they stopped in Boone County, Missouri to visit Thomas and Byrd Deatherage, cousins of George Washington Deatherage. Nancy and their daughter Caroline both died of the fever and are buried in Holden, Missouri. After their death George took his children back to Rio, Illinois. He later married Perry Easly. They traveled to Louisiana where she had children from a previous marriage. It was there that he died from a severe stroke.
