    • From George P DeKay 04/08:

Here are excerpts from letters I received some years ago and written
from a Moxley cousin to another in Ontario.
" The Ben Eby born to them (Delilah and Daniel) would be the Uncle Ben Eby whose connection we have wondered about. He lived in Guelph (Ontario) for a time - Mother remembers him - at Rowen's house - i.e. Augusta Moxley Rowen. Mother remembers that his two grandchildren from
the U.S., a boy and a girl, were looked after by someone in Guelph for a time. He (B.B.) gave Dad his box of tools and Marjorie Kennedy has a
pair of dressers he made - while living at her grandmothers. "[note - Augusta Moxley Rowen (1843-1923) was a daughter of Orlando
Henry Moxley (1815-1887), older half-brother of Benjamin B. Eby. Marjorie Rowen Kennedy (b. 1906) was her granddaughter, daughter of
      Orlando Eby Rowen (1875-1920).]
    • From George P DeKay 04/08:

On Sept. 26, 1898 a Will of Benjamin B. Eby of Avery, Owen County, KY, was probabed in Owen County Court. It is in Will Book G, page 93. The order probabing said it is recorded in Book O, page 610. The Executor was Fidelity Trust and Safety Vault Co. of Louisville.

The Will stated that he wished to be buried with his wife and children in Eastern Cemetery in Louisville. The Will names two ORPHANED GRANDCHILDREN, Daisy Adams Eby and Robert Lee Eby. [This then indicates that Benjamin Franklin's wife was deceased sometime between 1895 (when listed in Louisville directory) and 1898.

Odd that her name was not on the tombstone in Eastern Cemetery. I recently contacted officials in Louisville to check out the cemetery plot. The lot cards were checked for all Eby family in this plot and there was not one for Mary Della. Maybe she was buried with her side of the family.]
