ALOYSIUS ARTH IS HEART VICTIM
Passed Away Friday at Home of Daughter in Weippe, Native of
France and Homesteader.
Aloysius Arth, well-known farmer who resided on the old Orofino-Fraser road, passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Herman Moore, Weippe, Idaho, at 1:05 p. m. June 12th from heart trouble. He was 70 years, six months and five days old.
Funeral services were held in the community hall at Weippe Sunday, June 14th, with W. A. Shaw of Orofino in charge of arrangements, and the Rev. J. B. Kunkel of the Orofino Catholic church in charge of the services. Mrs. Laura Kimmel sang, accompanied by Mrs. Margaret Mc Cray.
Pallbearers were J. M. Perkins, Les Perkins, Albert and Ernest Schroeder, Jack and Chris Brady.
Burial was made in the Weippe cemetery. Mr. Arth was born in Neidorf Alsace-Lorraine (France), the son of Lawrence and Marion Weber Arth, on December 7, 1865.
He came to the United States in the fall of 1885 and settled at St. Charles, Mo. In the spring of 1889 he moved to Dover, Mo., where he engaged in farming.
January 30, 1894, he was united in marriage to Annie Katherine Lanners, at Corder, Mo. In 1902 the family
moved to Hamilton, Kansas, and in December 1905, to Potlatch, Idaho. After four years at the latter place,
Mr. Arth brought his family to Orofno. He homesteaded and farmed until the time of his death on a tract
of land on the old Orofino-Fraser road which leaves the river at the mouth of Fords creek.
Mr. Arth became a citizen of the United States in 1914.
He leaves to mourn his loss his wife, and six daughters: Mrs. Herman Moore, Mrs. Day Ward, Mrs. Earl
Barnes and Mrs. Hollis Perkins, all of Weippe; Mrs. George Siderius and Mrs. Leon Thomas of Kalispel, Montana, and ten grandchildren. A son died in infancy. One brother, Anton Arth, of Higginsville, Mo., two nephews and a niece in Missouri also survive him.
