Reception Nov. 4 To Honor Z. Jordans
Mr. and Mrs. Zan Jordan will be honored with a reception to mark their golden wedding anniversary at the
Bon'Eve Beauty Salon from 2 to 5 p.m. on November 4.
Hostesses will be the Jordan's daughter, Mrs. Zella Davis and daughter-in-law, Mrs. Harold Jordan, who invite all
the Jordan's friends to come and greet them on this occasion.
Mr. and Mrs. Jordan have asked that there be no gifts.
Zan Jordan and the former Ethel Eby were married November 5, 1912 at the Courthouse in Lewiston, with her
father, Chas. Eby, and uncle, Fred Eby as witnesses.
Mrs. Jordan was born and reared in Clearwater County and Zan came from West Virginia in 1909.
Following their marriage the couple lived in the Fraser area where Zan logged, and they were also in Weippe a
short time before moving to Orofino in 1922. He was a barber here until 1951 when he started the building of
Zan's on the Lewis-Clark highway. The couple have made their home near their business since that time. In
addition to their daughter, Mrs. Davis and son, Harold, the Jordans have three granddaughters and four great
grandchildren.

Jordans Honored At Reception Sun.
More than 150 friends came to greet Mr. and Mrs. Zan Jordan when they celebrated their golden anniversary
Sunday with an "open-house" given in their honor by Mrs. Harold Jordan and Mrs. Elwood Davis at the Bon' Eve
Salon.
An afternoon of perfect fall weather added to the enjoyment of the guests. Baskets of gold chrysanthemums and
gold bells suspended from the ceiling were decorations used.
Feature of the refreshment table was a wedding cake baked and decorated by Mrs. Darrel Frazier of Pierce. The
cake was cut and served by Mrs. Norman Vaughan (the former Arlene Davis), who was the only granddaughter
able to attend. Mrs. Albert Frazier of Pierce assisted Mrs. Harold Jordan with the
serving.
Mrs. Perk Lyda poured and Mrs. Andy Goin of Craigmont served punch. Mrs. Elwood Davis had charge of the
guest book.
Relatives of Mrs. Jordan who came from out-of-town were her brother Arnold Eby, Vancouver, Wash, and her
nephews, the Jack Eby family from Vancouver and Mr. and Mrs. Larry Eby of Camas, Wash.
Guests from Lewiston were Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Stevenson, Larry Reed, the J. B. Lillards, Mr. and Mrs. Paul
Wohlen, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Lundy, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Jordan, Fleet Jordan, Mrs. Viola Aggar, the Keith
Vaughans, Lyle Kitchen and Mr. and Mrs. Lester Prine. Others from a distance were Leonard Christenson of
Kennewick, Wash. and Garden Benson of Wenatchee, the John Rauch family of Troy, Mr. and Mrs. Vern Storey,
Genesee, the K. 0. Andersons of Culdesac, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Hamilton of Medical Lake, Wash, and Mr. and
Mrs. Floyd Meyers of Kamiah. Mr. and Mrs. Jordan were married in Lewiston, November 4, 1912 and have made
their home in this area ever since. Their two children are Harold Jordan and Mrs. Elwood (Zella) Davis, both
Orofino.
A money-tree of gold foil wrapped coins was presented to the couple
by relatives and friends.

Mrs. Zan Jordan Dies; Mrs. Zan Was Member Of Pioneer Family
6 Funeral services, for Mrs. Zan (Ethyl) Jordan, 76, will be held, Friday at 11 am. at Gilberts Chapel with the Rev.
Wendell Stakkestad, pastor of Ascension Lutheran Church, officiating.
Mrs. Jordan died April 3 at St. Joseph's Hospital after a short, illness, but had been in failing health for several
years.
She was born July 17, 1895 in the Fraser area, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Eby, who homesteaded near
Fraser. Her grandparents came to the Clearwater country when Orofino had, one Indian home and all supplies,
had to be freighted from Kendrick over the hill to Ahsahka, and across the ferries to Weippe and Pierce.
Mrs. Jordan attended the Cottonwood School near Fraser. She met her future husband Zan Jordan when she was
15 and they were married November 5, 1912. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1962.
For many years her husband' operated a barbershop here and, they established and operated Zan?s Resort on the
Lewis-Clark Highway.
Her husband survives at their home here. Other survivors are a daughter Mrs. Frank (Zelia) Crawford and a son,
Harold Jordan both of Pierce: four grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren, two brothers, Charles Eby,
Camas, Wn. and Earl Eby, Portland, and a half-brother, Merie Eby, Olympic, Wn.
Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery.

Jordan Funeral Held at Orofino
Orofino ? The Funeral for Ethyl Alice Jordan, 76, Orofino, who died Monday at Lewiston, was Friday at Gilberts
Chapel with the Rev. Wendall Stakkestad, pastor of the Ascension Lutheran Church, officiating. Mrs. Leonard
Danner sang, accompanied by Mrs. Donald Jenni, both of Orofino.
Pallbearers were Vernon Butler, Harry Sanders, Charles Plank, Ernest Butler, Lester Prine and William Linn, all
of Orofino.
Honorary Pallbearers were Howard Brundage, William Tease, Floyd Myers, Byron Kysamore, Walter Smith and
Jack Aggar.
