  "Retired Miner Dies today in Clinton Hospital. Chauncey (sp) Abernathy, 89, of 241 North Third Street, died at the Vermillion County Hospital at 5:40 a.m. today. He had been ill for the past week. Mr. Abernathy was born in Covington, Ind. Aug 26, 1882 to Samuel andf Humanze (sp) Lowe Abernathy. A retired coal miner, he had resided in the Clinton for the past 55 years. Survivors include his wife Mae: several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Karanovcich Funeral Home with Rev. Leverett Hamrick officiating. Burial will be in the Walnut Grove Cemetery. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Sunday." Chancy and Mae had no children.
