| Louisa Permelia Abernethy This trunk has the initials J.A. (John Abernathy) engraved on the outside of the lid. It's journey started in the early 1800's (witnessed by the newspaper lining the trunk lid, dated 1827. In 1842, William Harrison Angell and Electa Lavira (Abernathy) Angell (John Abernathy's daughter) took a covered wagon from New Haven, Vermont to Sun Prairie, Wisconsin. William Angell became one of the founders of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin.
The trunk remains in the family today, filled with photos and letters of many generations of family members.
