  • Notes
    • Son of Jeremiah Thornton. Grandson of Solomon Thornton. Great-grandson of Daniel Thornton. Brother of Ethan. When Elijah died he left the family in debt and an administrator was appointed and the house and land were sold due to unpaid taxes and outstanding mortgages. The house had been built nearly 150 years previous by Elijah's great-grandfather Daniel Thornton. That house now stands in Greenville Ohio, after being dismantled board by board and transported there. The land the house and once stood is now a retirement community.
