Aileen Black, 86, of Black Road, Campbellsville, died Friday, Feb. 11, 2000 in Louisville. Daughter of the late Robert Hord and Bertha Romine Hord, she was born on Feb. 9, 1914 in Taylor County, Ky. and was a member of Meadowview Baptist Church. Black was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville. She was married to Emmett L. Black on Jan. 22, 1936, who preceded her in death on Dec. 27, 1983. Survivors include one sister, Ruby McMahan of Campbellsville; two nieces and one nephew whom she helped raise, Sandy Gaskins of Campbellsville, Marilyn Byrd of Brentwood, Tenn., and Larry D. Hord of Helmwood, Tenn.; one other niece and five other nephews, Margie Leach, Jerry McMahan, Bobby McMahan, and Donnie McMahan, all of Campbellsville, Ronald A. Smith of Hazard, and Terry Smith of Williamstown, W.Va. She was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother, Lillian Black on Sept. 14, 1934, Lena Smith on Aug. 4, 1996, and Oliver Hord on June 4, 1998; and one niece Opal Jean Leftwich on April 21, 1999. Funeral was at 1 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 13 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville, with burial in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens. Dr. James E. Jones officiated. Pallbearers were Blake Byrd, Curt Gaskins, Larry Hord, Travis Hord, Brian Leach, Richie Leinhart, Barry McMahan, Jerry McMahan, Rob McMahan and Matt Smith.
