      An obituary published in the Shelbyville Democrat on November 12, 1914 for Miss Marilla Hord stated that she had died Friday [November 6, 1914] at the hospital in Jacksonville. Miss Hord was a sister of Mrs. Alzira Reed of Shelbyville and was about 50 years old at the time of her death. She was survived by one sister, Mrs. Reed of Shelbyville and four brothers who were: E. J. Hord and John K. Hord of ohio, Charles Hord of California, and Clem Hord of Shelbyville. The funeral was at the Oak Grove Church with burial in the church yard.
