- Mrs. Delma Compton Anderson of 1143 Pete's Trail, Clover died Jan. 25, 2010 at Halifax Regional Hospital. She was born in Halifax County on Aug. 16, 1923 and was 86 years old. Mrs. Anderson was the daughter of the late Elijah Jackson Compton and Eva Chandler Compton and was married to the late Charlie James "Pete" Anderson. She was a member and former Sunday school teacher at Rodgers Chapel Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Nancy A. Warrick of Alexandria and Linda A. Conner and husband, Ronnie, of Nathalie; two sons, Charlie James "Jimmy" Anderson and wife, Wanda, of Clover and George E. Anderson of Clover; one brother, Samuel Compton of Halifax; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Anderson will be held at Rodgers Chapel Church Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2010, at 2 p.m. with the Revs. Aubrey Heath and Doug Spurlock conducting the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
