    • Esta M Fby, 86, of 416 Fairview St., East Earl, died Saturday morning at Ephrara Community Hospital after a long illness.

      She worked from 1942 to 1960 as a licensed practical nurse in home nursing and at Welsh Mountain Home and the Mennonite Home, formerly Orville Home.

      A member of Weaverland Mennonite Church, she was an active quilter for many years at the Mennonite Central Committee Material Aid Center, Akron.

      She also was a member of Hershey's Mennonite Church Sewing Circle and enjoyed vegetable gardening and bird watching.

      Born in Leacock Township, she was the daughter of the late Isaac M. and Esther S. Brackhill Hershey.

      Her husband, Marin C. Fry, died in 1986.

      Surviving are four stepsons, John M., married Ella Mae Landis Eby of Pennville, N.J.; Peter W. of Nashville, Tenn.; James R., married to Wilma Stoltfus Eby of Olympia,Wash.; and Michael C., married to Susan Martin Eby of Terre Hill; a stepdaughter, Sarah A. Eby-Ebersole, married to W. Daniel Ebersole of Atlanta; 10 step-grandchildren; ?ve step-great grandchildren; and three sisters, Margeret Eckman of Lancaster; Dorothy and Erma Hershey, both ofIntercourse.

      She was preceded in death by four brothers, Ross, M. Clair, Leroy and J. Musser Hershey; and a sister, Marian Bare.
