19 'ANZAC Cove' (in Turkish language 'Anzak Koyu') is a small cove on the Gallipoli peninsula in Turkey. It became famous as the site of World War I landing of the ANZAC (Australian and New Zealand Army Corps) on April 25 1915. The cove is a mere 600m long, bounded by the headlands of Ari Burnu to the north and Little Ari Burnu, known as Hell Spit, to the south. Following the landing at Anzac Cove, the beach became the main base for the Australian and New Zealand troops for the eight months of the Battle of Gallipoli.

6. John Alloway Strange, Sr, 1727 - 1811 VA

Four children, William 1783, George 1786, Sally 1788 & Gideon (Colonel) 1793

7. John Alloway Strange Sr parentage has yet to be proved, thought to be son of
Edmond Alloway Strange III, b 1695-1760 VA, mother unknown \

8. Edmond Alloway Strange II, b 1655 - 1715

9. Edmond Alloway Strange I b1625 - 1685

10. William Strange b 1601 (believed from Scotland, arrived Virginia 1619)

Those names in direct line with John Alloway Strange, Sr are in bold print. Please be aware, as I have noted above, the true parentage of John, Sr has not been "Proved", however, there are historical documents attesting to the immigration of William Strange who appears to have been the father of Edmond Strange I. The middle name "Alloway" is thought to be that of the mother's maiden name. For historical purposes, I would rely on John Sr as the first generation, discounting Edmond I, II, III and William until more information can sustain the relationship.
I have considerable history of John Sr as a plantation owner and community leader in Fluvanna County, VA. He twice married, having a total of nine children. It is also recorded that he had nine slaves. My family roots attest with John Sr and his first wife Anne Mildred Mitchell. Robert Strange McNamara line descends down from the second marriage to Mildred Ann Barnett. I hope this will fill in some blanks or add some new lines. Let me know if I can help you with any additional information.
